a really awesome tool has just been released by google under the name google trends basically what it does is: you type in one or more words and what you get is a timebar with graphs showing the amount of searches on those words, show news possibly effecting those words and show what regions and cities had the most searches on the words and in what language the search results where in. all graphically. you've really got to see it for yourselves. link

I kampen om at flytte så meget varme væk fra processorer som muligt, har forskere fra Purdue University, arbejdet på at lave materialer der forbedrer varmeoverførslen mellem processor og køler.

Forskerne hos Purdue, har lavet en "kølepasta" af kulstof nanorør, der fungerer lidt som velcro, de kalder "carbon nanotube array thermal interface". Når det påføres processor og køler, opstår der et netværk af fibre på begge overflader, der griber fast i hinanden når de sættes sammen.

Fibrene holder ikke processor og køler bedre sammen, som almindelig velcro ville gøre, men skaber en bedre overflade til at flytte varme med. Indtil videre har man opnået en varmeledningsevne, der er adskillige gange bedre, end de bedste konventionelle materialer.

Extreme Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (EIT) image of a huge, handle-shaped prominence taken on Sept. 14,1999. Prominences are huge clouds of relatively cool dense plasma suspended in the Sun's hot, thin corona. The hottest areas appear almost white, while the darker red areas indicate cooler temperatures.
